Light and Bright Bathroom

Here are a few pictures since I have painted and accessorized my bathroom.  I will have to find my before pic, it really shows the contract between the beige paint and this beautiful blue/grey paint!  But for now, here you go!

Love New Bedding!

I love new bedding.  It makes a big change in a room without having to spend a ton of money.  My sweet friend gave me the large pillow shams for christmas and my birthday, and the little pillows came from TJMaxx.  New bedding makes me smile:)

Landscaping Completed

Woohoo!!  Our landscaping is finally done!  Steve and I decided to do it all  on our own.  Let me tell you, it was HARD WORK but worth it.  We saved money doing it on our own, and we have the satisfaction of knowing we did it!!

When we moved in the front yard and back yard were both pure dirt.  Here is before…

We put in rock, sod, plants, trees, and mulch.  I love the after!!

Here is the dry river bed we put in.  My favorite part!

I love the Russian Sage we planted.   They smell amazing.

Steve and I want to say a big “THANK YOU” to everyone who helped out.  My mom and dad, Steve’s mom, Greg from down the street, Mike K., David K. and his Bobcat.

Shabby Chic Guest Room

The guest room make-over is finished!  My goal was to stay on a small budget and still achieve the shabby chic look.  Goal accomplished!!

Here is the before-

Here is the after-

Last week I bought an interesting piece of furniture that I decided to break up and use as two night stands.  I love the way they are perfectly mis-matched:)

Here you can see how everything goes together.  I distressed the nightstands and headboard alike.  The antique white in the bedding matched the heirloom white in the furniture.  The lamps are very creamy.  I added the yellow for a pop of color.  The photos of are of our wedding reception, I love how the yellow looks good in the frame.

  • Relaxing Master Bedroom

Recently I have spent some time rearranging our master bedroom.   I have also added a few little touches to make it feel more complete and lovely.

Here is a pic of the before.  Notice the paint is very BEIGE!  It was everywhere.  The walls, the ceiling, the carpet, the bedspread.  Also, there is not one piece of decoration or wall art.

A few things I did to make it beautiful-

    1. Painted the room with Behr Paint and Primer in One
    2. Bought the quilt from Home Goods on clearance!
    3. I made the large framed prints.  For tutorial click here.
    4. I made the small framed prints above the bed.
    5. The desk is a re-purposed small dining table.  For before and after pics click here
    6. My husband even made the curtain rods.  He bought the wood and paint from Home Depot and saved us a ton on custom looking rods!

    My Little Girl’s Room

My little girl is 2 years old now.   She is not a baby anymore, so I wanted to stay  away from the super pastel pinks we used in her nursery.  But she is not yet a big girl who is into purple and black (or any other crazy colors), so I am still holding onto the little girlie colors.

Here is the sweet little space we created.

I made the curtains.  My hubby and I painted the stripes together.   The toy box came from my brother-in-law and his beautiful wife (they make the ENTIRE thing from scratch!).  The bedding from TJMaxx.  And the flower chandelier is from Pottery Barn Kids.   The room makes me smile, and I love that my little girl loves her new space.

    My Beautiful Spaces

    Dining Room

    Master Bedroom

I spend A LOT of time in the kitchen.  Not necessarily cooking.  The majority of my day is spent getting snacks, cleaning up the kids messes, preping for easy meals, drinking coffee,  and leaning againt counter talking to my hubby.

    Dining Room

Our dining room is used for almost every meal of the day, so it’s important for me to feel that it’s beautiful.  I love that we can all sit around the table and spend time as a family!

This China was a gift from my mother.  Her grandmother gave it to her.  It is fine bone Chine, lined with platinum.  Real Platinum.  I feel fancy just looking at it :)

The napkin is also from my Great-Grandma.  It’s beautiful.

At Last! Our Beautiful New Home!

Steve and I have been married almost 8 years, and in that time we have lived in EIGHT different places! We have owned some, rented some, some were apartments, some were townhomes, and even one real house. I am happy to say that we are finally settling down into a home that we can grow old in! It will be an exciting journey to make it our own and reflect our presonalities.

Here is right after the closing. I am a little giddy, and therefore a little cheesy.
