Recently I have spent some time rearranging our master bedroom.   I have also added a few little touches to make it feel more complete and lovely.

Here is a pic of the before.  Notice the paint is very BEIGE!  It was everywhere.  The walls, the ceiling, the carpet, the bedspread.  Also, there is not one piece of decoration or wall art.

A few things I did to make it beautiful-

  1. Painted the room with Behr Paint and Primer in One
  2. Bought the quilt from Home Goods on clearance!
  3. I made the large framed prints.  For tutorial click here.
  4. I made the small framed prints above the bed.
  5. The desk is a re-purposed small dining table.  For before and after pics click here
  6. My husband even made the curtain rods.  He bought the wood and paint from Home Depot and saved us a ton on custom looking rods!

I love the quilt you found at Home Goods. I don’t have one anymore but I’ll have to check TJ Maxx to see if they have any one clearance!

I love the room. What color paint did you pain the walls?
We have a blue on our wall but it is too bright, yours looks perfect. If you could let me know that would be amazing.

Hi Andrea! I am glad you like the color! I purchased several samples before I found the perfect blue. It’s called Silver Strand the number is 560E-3 at Home Depot.

I really don’t usually do the back and forth but you left such a nice comment I wanted to just stop by and say thank you. Then wow, you had this bedroom post up and I was totally sucked in. I love the bedding and the prints above the bed. You said you made them. The same process as the bigger ones? They are really fabulous.
So glad I came back. I want to see more so I will be following.
    Thanks again,

Oh, I am so jealous. That room came out lovely. We’ve been doing tons of remolding in our house and the room that hasn’t been touched yet is the master bedroom….it’s this incredibly bland pea soup color. Bleck!! I guess I’ve got some work to do!!
