I have spent a decent amount of time on this table.  I started it while my grandparents were staying with us, and my grandma shared some of her furniture secrets with me.  I must have inherited the creative gene from her!

Here is before.

Here is after.  I love it!

First I sanded the top down to the raw wood.

Then I covered the top with wrapping paper and primed the ugly green.  For this step I used my brand new paint gun!!!  It was wonderful to use!  For primer I used zinsser water based primer.  The paint was antique white by valspar.  I did three coats of paint after the primer was dried.

Next I stained the top black, two coats.  I finished using Minwax Polycrylic as the top coat.

The hardware is from Lowes.  I think it makes it look sophisticated.

I think it looks great in my dining room!

I love it! I just finished a table with dark stain on the top and whit on the bottom. I just love the contrast!
